Central
Welcome to
Central, this starts from Talbot Road and ends at Waterloo Road. There is quite
a lot to see here, there is the pier (with its Theatre, Big Wheel, amusements
etc) live shows, restaurants, nightclubs, lively pubs and of course Hotels and B
& B's, some of which have their own entertainment too.
This Central
area is in the middle of town, where you will find Blackpool Tower. This is
where you will find the main shopping, and the amusements etc which are on the
front. Most live events that happen on the beach and the prom each year take
place here. There are many well known TV and Pop stars that come here. Each
September the lights get turned on with famous people last year it was Blue with
guest stars Robin Gibb, Liberty x, Atomic Kitten and Louise Redknapp it was
broadcast live on Radio 2.
Every year
they have an air display with for example the Red Arrows, (who appeared last
year) and other events happen throughout the year. The Blackpool run, Marathon
and Half Marathon, There are always things to see here, including the different
TV soaps that come here every couple of years to film, we also get film stars
come here to make films here you don’t know who you will bump into in Blackpool.
